

EA Play has been live in several iterations, known as Origin Access on PC and EA Access on consoles. This higher-priced tier also includes EA Play, a subscription service for video games published by Electronic Arts.

In April 2019, Microsoft also introduced Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which bundles Game Pass with an Xbox Live Gold subscription. With the multiplayer subscription service Xbox Live Gold already being a part of the online gaming experience on the Xbox One console, Microsoft introduced a separate on-demand subscription service for gaming content, known as Xbox Game Pass, in the second half of the console’s lifecycle. The overall reach of the Microsoft Xbox Network was an estimated 120 million monthly active users. Xbox Game Pass reported 25 million subscribers in January 2022. For a limited time, Microsoft is offering three-month free trial to new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members with the purchase of either controller.First launched in June 2017 on the Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft's cross-platform gaming subscription service, which allows users to play online multiplayer, access a rotating library of games, and other services, depending on the subscription tier. The new Backbone One controller for iPhone features a dedicated button to launch the Xbox Cloud Gaming web app. The popular Razer Kishi controller, originally only for Android phones, now has an MFi-certified version for iPhones. The Xbox Cloud Gaming expansion comes along with an expansion of Xbox-ready game accessories for iPhones. So everything you do on a console will be there waiting for you in the cloud, and vice-versa. On Xbox, all saved games are always synced to the cloud, as is other user data like friends lists and achievements. Games will stream at 1080p and 60fps, but the company says that “Going forward we’ll continue to innovate and add more features to enhance your cloud gaming experience.” This means faster performance, much quicker loading times, and better visual quality. In addition to the broad availability of Xbox Cloud Gaming (formerly code-named xCloud) to all subscribers, Microsoft has upgraded the servers that run the games in the cloud to new hardware based on the Xbox Series X.
